This FJ40 is one of the three hundred Toyota built for the USA in 1983, the FINAL YEAR the FJ40 was available in the US. Of those 300, about 50 had factory power steering and air conditioning. She deserves the moniker RARE Full off body restoration. Every nut and bolt came off, most replaced with either stainless (for exterior pieces) or anodized (for interior), (except seats, roll bar and seat belts which got new grade 8 hardened steel bolts) Paint: Black trim: Frame, axels, most small brackets and most underside components painted in POR-15, White trim: Roof, grill bezel and rims (all 5) sandblasted and painted inside and out All silver trim: repainted with the exception of the hood and windshield hooks which were replaced with stainless (due to the moving parts), some heat shields and some other engine trim Body panels: all painted in Toyota code 857 medium blue original color for this truck.
